📜 Key facts

AgeVaries by deposit
Origin & sourcesPakistan (Balochistan), introduced to the market around 2019.
CompositionA rock, not a single mineral: blue and white bands of calcite and aragonite with blue copper minerals, reportedly including dark-brown inclusions (CaCO₃, Mohs 3).

How it forms

Calcite crystallizes from carbonate-rich water in veins, caves and cavities, or forms masses in sediment. Trace elements and inclusions give its many colours. It is soft, fizzes in dilute acid and dissolves slowly in water, so keep it dry.
